All the XGFor and XGagainst stuff has always looked so wildly out of whack to me that I've never really given it any credence at all.
The data input seems so subjective and wildly variable that, apart from creating talking points, I've never seen how it could provide useful info at a per game level.
That said, I've never looked at the workings in depth either - does it mainly operate across multiple games/seasons?
(which would reduce some issues, but maybe amplify others).
I know I should just Google it, but has there been any decent studies analysing it as an analysis tool?
