But thought it might be a stretch to persuade him here...
Fact is, in the current climate , I'm not sure why anyone would up sticks from a club that's doing well to go there.
Pay packet obviously, but with McCarthy, Hurst, Lambert and now Cook (pre sacking) all discontent the structure of the club, it would certainly be a red flag to anyone with ambitions.
Just chucking money at league one only gets you so far these days.
And there remains the question of how open the money tap really is with the pension fund. They've spent a wedge,but are gonna be wanting a return sooner rather than later. With the global situation I wonder if they're already pondering cutting and running from the money pit.... After all, who really 'invests' in a football club?
