That what we were seeing yesterday was a one-sided and slightly exagerated acount.
Thats not to say some or a lot of it wasn't true. I believe him when he says he was subjected to racist abuse/racism during his time at yorkshire which was completely unacceptable. Thats what the report found too.
Clearly that dressing room (and many others I suspect in sport) had a culture of young men abusing each other (probably mostly in the name of banter) which is his fundamental point and is correct. It appears to have got so bad that it was just seen as normal. That is what needs to change as its an unhealthy culture where people can be made to feel uncomfortable.
i also believe there is some truth in the reports he wasn't always easy to handle and these tweets come as no surprise. I suspect there will be more revalations about his behaviour when younger and this all coming out now in the national media isn't going to help his mental state.
I also think he is (possiby rightly) bitter at being released in cruel circumstances and is out for revenge.
I agree a line needs to be drawn. The witch hunt against individuals (some of whom have had no right of reply) who may have at some point said something vaguely racist or some sort of generalisation like Lloyd did, whether as a joke or in a moment of clumsiness (including Rafiq if this is the only instance) is only going to destroy people and careers. Go after the people who it emerges from these stories have been really, genuinely and maliciously racist by all means but we really need to stop microanalysing every word/tweet/email to find something offensive someone said from the last decade and then using it to cancel people.
I know some will scoff at this but I genuinely believe there is not a single poster on here who has not at some point said or typed something that could be construed as racist or offensive to another race, made a joke based on stereotyping etc. I also bet we already think twice about what we say or post now and will do so even more as a result of this episode which ultimately will be the good to come out of it.
