That’s why I stopped playing

I had a few games in the Sussex leagues but couldn’t accept the way Asian teammates were spoken about (never to their face, at least not in my presence). No racial epithets but talk of “them lot” and the rest. I’m not one to keep quiet and didn’t and basically stropped out. Never really played since as other priorities took over for me (this is all obviously some decades ago now). It’s good that it’s coming out now. Football and rugby are a lot further along addressing these issues than cricket is, I think, and cricket needs to catch up.
