I doubt it was said in anything other than pure jest, but as Rafiq points out - racism isn’t banter.

Clearly a club culture issue at Yorks of the type most workplaces have been battling to change for the past few decades. professional sport still has some way to go it seems.

(Though for balance, heartening to hear him refer to a captain elsewhere stamping down on mere hints of it - its incumbent on all of us to be like that)
