Quite fascinating that people don't think we'd be draw for a decent manager.

That argument is really weird.

There's way more managers than jobs, and most clubs sack managers at the drop of a hat.

We're really stable as far as infrastructure and support for the manager goes. Anyone coming here knows they're going to get a decent roll of the dice.

The squad has bags of potential and we have a small pot of money for reinforcements in the transfer window.

Very decent platform for any young and ambitious, but maybe unfashionable manager to make their name at.

We can afford the salaries of decent managers at this level too.

By contrast there was loads of people in here losing their s**t in the transfer window that we couldn't afford to go after the typical players for this level. That's right, we can't.

Sorry, just don't get it. Smith looks a solid, but underwhelming pick for the managers' job, to me. I'll back whoever is appointed and really hope they do well, but I find the lack of ambition for our ability to grab a nifty manager baffling contrasted with the massive overconfidence of our pull for prospective players.
