But on reflection, it makes a lot of sense.

Farke-ball was brilliant the first time we won the championship, modified Farkeball last season was also great!

But, it’s plain for all to see that it’s not a style of football that works in the PL for a team with a comparatively tiny budget.

This is a bit more of a transition than I expected we would go for, but actually it’s a pretty sensible one. Smith’s teams have played good football, they are more pragmatic than peak Farke’s, but if we want a longer PL stay, that’s what we need.

It’s not exciting, and Knutsen would have been, but equally that would have been a big gamble. Perhaps a bigger one than we need to take. I’m onboard even if not tremendously excited.
