I only like the idea as a short term punt

I think the players are more likely to be buoyed up by a Lampard than a ‘who are they?!’ manager from Norway or elsewhere that will be more of a long term pick.

Many of our better players won’t be here for that long term so I don’t see them buying into and getting behind that sort of manager.

And Lampard has the advantage of knowing the League, the press demands, the country. Expecting a Knutsen to hit the ground running is asking a bit much.

Whether ‘Lampard’ is the best short term punt I don’t know.
