re your last line, no, of course not. We shouldn't even be feeding any names to the media.
However, as it happens, when we found out that he had been sacked immediately after the match I rather assumed that it was because we were ready to announce somebody (or had at least decided who it would be and had their tacit acceptance).
Not that we were only going to select a manager from a shortlist after sacking Farke.
I just much prefer the Watford approach of getting your ducks in a row before making the final move, particularly if you are snatching a very rare moment of joy away from people in the process.
