Sacking a manager in November (sic)

I looked at the last time [2000/01], and I was stunned. Stunned I tells ya.

Hamilton - 20 games, 20 pts, -9 GD. Had just lost five on the bounce.

I remembered that Worthy came in, dumped a load of wasters and turned it around.

That really wasn't the case.

NW's first 20 games? 26 pts, -3 GD (inc a 4-defeats sequence)

So not a very big uptick at all (sides like Tranmere & QPR got a load worse, helping our rise up the table)

As for personnel changes, again not really.

Derveld disappeared, Jackson came back into defence, Dalglish & Notman & McVeigh were more involved, Abbey returned from l-t injury, and the loans dried up.
[Drury & Holt were only signed in late March]

But the rest of the line-up remained much the same (Marshall, Sutch, Flem, Malky, Mulryne, Marshall, Forbes, Llewellyn & Roberts. And the likes of Cottee and Walsh had only peripheral roles for Hammy).

This, obviously, has only minor relevance to the current era, but thought I'd put it out there.
