and the only way of listening to Radio Norfolk was on the AM radio in the car or, if the atmospherics were right, I could just get commentary on the stereo in the house as it had a proper radio aerial.
The problem with listening at home would be that the quality was crackly and she that must be obeyed would complain so every week I would find a reason to be out on a Saturday afternoon so that I could listen. Once I went for a haircut when we were 2-0 down to Arsenal on the first game of the season and didn’t switch it back on until sports report started!
The worst occasion was when SWMBO was out and I was listening to a very poor signal of a game against WHam - we were 2-0 up when she came home and demanded that it was switched off as she had a “headache” five minutes to go…we lost 3-2!
To this day I refuse to stay in the room with her when watching games!
