Between club and would-be professionals at the start of their career. I played with and against a few like Russell and the gulf was massive. But then I was pretty ordinary myself so that's not saying much.
Cricket is probably one of few team sports where one really good player can literally win games almost single handedly...I've read a few autobiographies of big Test players and they often refer very fondly to their League cricket days. It shows a great camaraderie
