Yeah Dowell has been unlucky but I think this 4-3-3 doesn't suit Cantwell either

So last year the 4231 worked because the 2 dropped in to mop up full backs who were providing the width as the 2 wide players in the 3 basically drifted in and roamed, got on the ball and probe.

Now were having a middle 3 where the deepest is the weakest defensively, the other two are supposed to drop to cover for him and the full backs while also getting up the pitch to support the attack. It's asking far too much.
