Daniel Farke set to speak to the media ahead of Norwich City's Premier League match at Manchester City. Updates from 1.15pm.
----------------------------------------------------------------
DF: It is is not a bonus, because each and every game has the same points. We don't complain. We have worked hard to be competitive against these teams. Liverpool and Manchester City is a tough start and we had problems with our pre-season. So it is probably the two toughest games you have in world football, but we don't complain because we want to have these games.
DF: We are looking forward to this game and we want to grind out a result. We know it is one of the biggest task in world football if you face a Pep Guardiola side in the first home game back in front of their fans. It will be a difficult task, but we know we have our skills and our strengths and if we are at our best we can hurt these best teams but we will have to be at our best.
DF: (Transfer window) I have to priase the club and I have to priase the work of Stuart Webber because I think the work he has done is fantastic. Every signing is spot on. It is not easy with a self-financing club, we have to be creative. I think with our opportunities Stuart has done fantastic. We need to do something at full-back and central defensive area and a central midfield area. I am quite confident we will do some business.
DF: We definitely want a left-full back because we need to have two options for each and every position, but it is not our style to talk on rumours or names. We will confirm it once the business is done.
DF: We had a big problem in our pre-season. I leave (the vacination) to the medical expert. If I player asks me I will give my recommendation. I am a firm believer in vacination. I am double vaccinated myself.
DF: Płacheta is still not available because of his effects from Covid-19 infection. Andrew Omobamidele is back in training and is available. There is a question mark over Christoph Zimmermann. Apart from this everybody else is available.
DF: I got the feeling for 65 minutes we were on the level with Liverpool. I was quite pleased. The only difference was the 1-0 with Jota. It was a pretty unlucky goal, but after they scored the 2-0 you got the feeling you could feel our pre-season was not perfect and we were against a world class side. However, I feel in this game there was many, many positives and I was quite pleased with our performance and our fitness levels.
DF: The win over Manchester City two years ago, did not garuantee is to stay in the league. We are highly motivated for these games, but they will not difine our season. We want to play with bravery and courage. We know we are not the favourite but we want to grind out a performance and a result.
DF: The training sessions have been focused and concentrated. This week was important. We have the whole group together, after the covid-19 outbreak, for the second week running. It was important for our shape and our fitness. The players have worked quite hard and been
very focused.
DF: It is difficult to say we are on the same level as Manchester City and if you ask me honestly I would have prefered a different result for them at Tottenham. I think the first time they play in front of their fans they will be buzzing and they will be highly motivated to bounce back.
DF: I expect one of the best side in the world, with the best coach in the world. They will present the silverware from last season and the place will be buzzing. It will be one of the most difficult tasks in world football.
DF: (formation 4-3-3) I am not to addicted to base formation. Last season we also played a bit a 4-3-3. We adapted a little bit our base formation due to the quality of our opponents. It is of course difficult when you play against world class sides like Liverpool and Manchester City that you are quite solid against the ball. I think we were competitive for 65 minutes. They were quite dangerous out of coutner-attack chances, but we were quite spot on in those moments.
DF: It feels a little bit more business as usual this season. I think that is a good sign, because we are not over excited. We just have to be careful that we are not too down after a loss. We have to make sure that we still play with our rhythm. I quite like this feeling that it is a bit more business as usual.
DF: (Manchester City) It is unbelievably difficult because you can't predict what Pep is going to do. He plays so many different set-ups and so many diffent processes. We have to make sure that we don't overload the players with too much information. They don't want to their doctor exam on the pitch, but it is difficult for Manchester City to know what they are going to do but you have to find a balance and not overload the players with too much information.
DF: My players are not stupid they will know who they are facing. I don't believe in hiding behind these facts. They know they are facing a world class side. I think the best way is to be analytical. We will speak about their strengths. The times as a coach you say: 'We won't worry about them, we just concetrate on ourselves'. Those times are gone. The players want information, but it is about finding that balance.
DF: We know it is difficult to compete with a side with such good quality. We just have to make sure that we are there with our best possibly performance and then we will analyse the result.
DF: It is always the difficult to say that this is the best side, or this is the best side. You can't compare the process of Pep Guardiola with Manchester City, with the process of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. They are both world class sides. It is difficult compare but Manchester City are definitely one of the best side in the world and it will be a difficult challenge.
DF: (Pep Guardiola) I really like him as a human being. As a coach he is a legend. No coach of over the past 15 years as influenced football the way Pep has influenced football. He is a trend setter. He was playing with a false nine, before anybody knew what a false nine was. I think he is a genuis with what he is doing.
DF: It is always good to play in front of supporters. Even when the fans are against you in away game. I like this situation as a player and I like this situation as a manager. We will have a little yellow wall at Manchester City. I am sure it will be a good atmosphere.
DF: (Sam Byram) No he won't be involved. He does some bits and pieces on the picth. We have to be careful, but sadly he is a bit too far away from being involved (with the under-23s) tonight.
DF: (Not parking the bus). Of course we have to be spot on with our defending and really resilient, but it won't be enough if we just do this. You need against Man City as many period as you can when you have the ball and make them run after the ball. We need as many periods as possible when we can use our transition moments, set pieces moments and moments out of our possession.
DF: (Oliver Skipp) I was proud of him, not so much of me. We worked with him for 12 months, but I think he deserves all the priase. All my fingers are crosseed for him. He is a fantastic football player, and a fantastic human being but it is all testament to his character and his hard work on the training pitch. Oliver was always the mindset of older player. I think Tottenham and England should be very, very happy to have him.
DF: Well we will see. It is not like we will give the first two games away to get ourselves in shape. We cannot change this situation. We want to be competitive as possible. We want players to be in their best rhythm and we want to give players as much minutes as possible. It is about finding that balance. I think we can be competitive tomorrow knowing that we are facing an unbelievable difficult task.
DF: (Fans) 95 per cent of the stadium will be against us, but we need to enjoy this. I am sure our fans will be unbelievably noisy and it will be great to have them back as well. It will be Manchester City's first home game, when they present their silverware to their supporters, so I am sure they will be noisy as well. We want to be playing in these atmospheres and we want to be a successful these moments.
