Meh, there is talent in the top order

But our tactics and game and man management are dross. The fielding also went to pot.

Lack of faith in the top order drove us to put them in to bat. We've been chasing the game since then.

Like y'all are saying, I'm not sure how we muddle our way back - but our failure to really bed in *any* top order batsman over a number of years now seems to be less to do with the talent we've tried any much to do with how we (haven't) prepared them.
