Personally though I think we need more width than that formation allows.

We won’t play through the middle of many prem teams, but rashica showed he is capable of beating his man in wide areas. Maybe we go with two deep ish CMs, two more advanced widemen and someone to support pukki up top - a deep lying forward / number 10.

The only problem then is what you do with cantwell. Play him in the middle behind pukki? I’m not so sure about that as I liked the physicality Sargent brought and so if we’re playing a striker and another just off him, I’d probably go for Sargent.

I felt yesterday Aarons and cantwell cut inside a few times allowing Liverpool back into position when with a bit more pace we could have got away.

What I like though is we do seem to have some good options even if it’s far from clear which one(s) will work.
