Spent ages writing a post and i took to long so lost it.

I think what I decided ultimately is that I didn't like the fit of the combination of players to the formation.

Todd is not a wide forward. Not sure why he was kept there as we clearly transition. I don't like the blend of the midfield we used.

Maybe we needed:

Krul
Max Grant Ben Dimi
Pierre Todd Rupp
Onel Pukki Rashica

Something like that (no I'm not saying that's my dream lineup but I like the balance).

Todd drops deep and it kind of makes Gilmour a bit redundant in my eyes... I think of the midfield three as a triangle for us... Like a super deep #10. That should probably be Todd or Billy. Equally if you had a superb CDM you invert it and so the tip is at the base in which case you then might go with Todd and Billy together ahead of them.
