It's less about the result than confidence in the squad (and potential joiners having a gander and liking what they're seeing). Though obviously I'd love us to smash them, I can't really see past a Liverpool win. But perform well and stay in touch of them and it's OK - our relegation rivals won't get much change from this Liverpool side either. Keeping squad morale up is really important and a men-and-boys result won't help that at all.
