That all probably destabilised the squad.

Possibly also the core of that 18/19 squad may have been a bit cliquey, having come through a tricky first season and performed so well the next - they would have been a tough unit to break into. Now it’s largely dispersed, with only a few remaining, bringing in players who know each other may not be a bad plan.
