I don’t even see why we’re comparing here

Buendia may end up being a better player than Grealish but as of now, Grealish is more established and sought after. Hardball may have got us to 40million but I don’t think that’s altogether likely - so we may have ended up with an unhappy player (cf last season) and no money in the transfer pot. It’s all ifs and buts and maybes and who knows how players are actually valued but it seems clear that Buendia has been up for sale for over a year and only one club was willing to buy him.
