This Messi business

So this is all a massive power play. La Liga have done a deal with CVC capital partners for La Liga rights that would mean Barca receiving £200m, enough to pay all the players including Messi. However the money only comes if Barca sign an agreement saying they won't pursue a super league. This is Barca (and Real) pushing back, basically saying will CVC be so keen on a deal if Messi leaves the league. Hopefully La Liga will stick to their guns, and Messi being 34 rather than 27/28 may means they don't blink and CVC don't blink either.
