Didn’t get back until nearly midnight so delayed thoughts on yesterday

Gianoulis was everything we want in that position. Energy, willingness to get forward, clever overlaps, still bust a gut to get back if out of possession when up field

Gilmore looks really exciting. V good on the ball. Energetic and always looking to create by moving forwards. Couple of good runs into the box and nice shot just wide

Cantwell was like a man possessed. He didn’t stop running, had some great touches and looks sooo good. Incredible OHK for the assist

Idah scored two good goals and hopefully will be decent pook up to Pukki

Max disappointed me a bit. Didn’t create much compared to Giani. Post the ball a few times and just didn’t look his usual self.

Defence ropey at set pieces and they hit the bar at 1-0

I loved the energy and pace in our play. Was so good. Crisp passing at pace then movement off the ball. Giani held his width well and got in behind a lot due to this. That opened up so much space for Gilmore and cantwell early in the match. Then second half gillingham changed press and our subs meant for ten mins we lost rhythm but soon found it back.

Shout out to the man behind me who told his son “it looks like a training match” only for his young son to say “ isn’t it a Pre season training match?” And he replied “I suppose it is” haha
