The quality of the people looking at the replays.

In the NFL, its very rare that a huge mistake is made when going to the replay.
The quality of decision is normally quite high.

Can anybody say that with VAR?
There are terrible decisions all the time that nobody understands after watching the very same replays.

If we assume there is nothing sinister in the decisions then clearly the sport is protecting incompetence.
