was so wide of the mark it was laughable ,

It is a highly professional industry with people working in dangerous conditions using cutting edge technology

Lots of people that work offshore are highly educated and and on some installations i worked on almost 50% were woman , including one i met who was a OIM ( offshore installation manager )

And through education and regulation are highly aware of their obligation to environmental issues ( nothing is dumped in the sea except water )

So your vision of a 50's knuckle dragging bloke pining for the 90's is laughable
