Replacing a roof

I can't afford a house which doesn't need lots doing to it basically so I'm buying one which needs a new roof.

Do you reckon I should just get a s**t-ton of clingfilm and take the old tiles off and wrap that over instead - won't the seagulls just cover it in s**t, though, ruining the view of the skies?

I spose I could always try doing it in lego?

Or I might get someone who knows about roofs and stuff in, I dunno.
