Southgate has done a great job turning england from a bit of joke

in to a team with an approach and a structure who are happy to pick young players and try them, rather than recycling a squad again and again.
There are still issues around favouring certain sides, but we've come a long way from Big Sam.

HOWEVER.
He is also a very cautious manager, and I don't think his overall preferred style gets the best out of this current group of players.

So for me he has done what england needed at the time, now he needs to either evolve his approach through this opportunity or England need to find someone who can build on Southgates solid foundations.
