looks like some rebranding of clubs could be one outcome

Most of those big 6 clubs have spent time in the lower divisions. Just need to rebrand the legacy clubs and we could find that clubs like Leeds, Everton and Villa just become the new big clubs and life goes on. This hinges really on the ability for players to play in the world cup etc as that is the biggest player brand and not sure that they can create a new world cup. otherwise the manu brand could end up franchised to New york.
