til that carrow fire station has a control panel near the big rolly up doors that has a series of buttons on that control certain sets of traffic lights in the city depending on which direction they are headed and when pushed, they automatically stick the appropriate sets of lights to green to free up traffic and get it out of the way for a clear route, they then remain green until the fire appliance has passed. i suppose all fire stations have similar gizmos but i cannot vouch for this. nee nar.
