It really is scandalous

that the EFL have fixtures two days after the end of a very full international programme. And even more scandalous that there seems to be a refusal to allow postponement of games to the Saturday.

Of the starting eleven against Blackburn we will have only two players ready and rested to start, Dowell and Buendia.

Just getting back in reasonable time to travel to Preston will be a problem. We may be fortunate that McLean and Hanley will be able to get back relatively easily as they are in Scotland on Wed, and hopefully Pukki will not be required for Finnish friendly and will be allowed to leave early if not on the bench? However Skipp, Aarons, Cantwell will have problems getting back from Croatia even if they don't play but are on the bench, as will Giannoulis from Greece.

It is totally unreasonable...if we played such a weakened side towards the end of the season we'd be in danger of being fined.
