He's been really reliable and an important cog on and off for years.
(remember when we went on that champs winning, winning run last time around which coincided with McLean getting a run in the team.
There's always a need for the solid, unfussy players like McLean and Rupp to keep things tidy and let others shine. The way they enable other teammates means that they often get singled out as not adding much, but it's been clear for a while that Farke notes and values this.
Note also, Fergie's various ManU teams - the most successful always blended flair with solid 'team' players.
