The problem, essentially, was trying to put the icing on the cake with no cake underneath. So both he and Alex Neil - with opposite approaches - hit the same brick wall. And Lambert was never committed to us and has since proven himself a complete chump.

Long term, what we were doing could never have worked. What we're doing now must have a chance.
