I view the politicisation as being EU based

Stemming from a perceived need to try to present EU vaccination procurement as being something other than a complete shambles, within the context of brexit.

You are right though, the suspension of vaccine programs is at a national level. So rather than a swap deal with the EU as a whole, a swap deal with Germany - who have used less than half the AZ vaccine that has been supplied to them. I cant really comprehend how they can just have so many doses just sitting in storage.

I just find the whole situation depressing.
