We were on a beach in India.

We left the night before they went into lockdown. 11pm on a Friday night the streets would normally be heaving but almost everything had begun to close up. It felt quite eerie and a little sad, and you couldn't help feeling for the locals who completely depend upon tourists in order to scratch a living. Even at that early stage you had to wonder how any local business would survive and be able to ever reopen.

How the f**k do you successfully vaccinate 1.3 billion people? Particularly when you don't know where a chunk of them live.

Makes me feel quite sad thinking about it, and it's definitely the first place I'm going once this beast has been driven out of town.
