The day before they closed pubs back in March

Walked past my local village pub and it was rammed. Every time they announced the restrictions are coming in a few days it just encourages everyone to have one final big night out or whatever. Just heard on radio, interviews with people in busy newcastle pubs who are heading out before they close. I presume there must be a reason they do this but does seem stupid. Ensures a big superspreader weekend to limit the effectiveness of the lock down.
