I work for a successful subscription service

It's expensive and very niche though and although there are free alternatives if you have the time to sieve through thousands of sources, we're very good at what we do and our clients measure that in investment returns, so it's a simple equation for them mostly.

In fact even more of them are investing in info at the moment since everyone's sitting at home and they're looking to put money into something that actually pays a decent return.

The thing is that there's a lot of free stuff, so much in fact that people are willing to pay to cut out the chaff when they know specifically what they want. If we also know what they want, then we can effectively save them a hell of a lot of time and actively seek out exclusive info on what they want.

When it comes to football it's somewhat reversed - people will read whatever they can get their hands on and the only thing subscription or pay-per-view services really that you can't get on forums etc, is interviews with players/club officials etc.

Is that worth paying for? probably not for very many. I think anyone will struggle to make money from a model like that
