Otherwise what was the point in being conservative last season? Surely the point was that we’d keep this squad together and go again this season. If we’re now going to sell the Crown Jewels and invest again in unproven players with potential, we’re not following the Burnley approach at all.

I’ve lost track of what our strategy actually is at the moment.
