At 2am, 80 years ago today, my father and his parents were bombed out of their house

in Balham. Sadly the landlady, who had given them her room whilst she slept on the landing, perished in the explosion. I’m rather glad my dad survived, he was only 4 but remembers it well. He didn’t sleep well last night.
