when should the panic button be pressed

I'm not one who calls for the managers head or in this case the coaches head just because we not leading the table in September unbeaten and scoring for fun but.... given how last season finished , which was in my opinion after more the 50yrs watching Norwich , the worst we have ever played , if those results and performances were to continue how long before the club make changes
