Trowse Station was built before the river-crossing, and so briefly served as the terminus of the newly-built Brandon-Norwich line.

The station may have been useful in workers commuting to the Colman's factory, it was also definitely used as a goods terminus (“When it (the market) was by the Shirehall, cattle used to be driven to the station at Trowse")
