Transfer window slams shut 16 October?

So the first 5 league games occur before the usual last minute transfer flurry. Wondering if we get 5 games with the basis of the prem team and whether that is a good thing or not, based on recent performances.

A solid start and the loss of say, Aarons, on deadline day doesnt seem too bad. Carrying on dreadful form from last season, getting humped and then losing key players would rather darken the mood.
