It's a concern, however

I've just heard someone say that if the grades you are given, even if they are lower than expected, get you into your University of choice then there's nothing really to worry about.

If however you feel that you've been proper screwed over then there's the appeal process, which no-one knows how it will work, which will cause more stress and anxiety.

On the plus side, Most Universities are sympathetic to people who did quite make the grade and are trying to accommodate them. The synique in me says Universities need bums on seat and with the drop in overseas students there will be more places to go round. It may not be the University of choice but that's not the end of the world.
