I agree its very difficult. My original thought was why not just let everyone

have the benefit of the doubt for one year and get higher grades as long as everyone knows.

But then do you end up with lots of students on courses they are not suited to plus I suppose there may be a problem with universities having to take more students than they can actually accommodate if their courses are over subscribed.

What I find very strange is the arbitrary nature of some of the downgrades.
