Never been keen on the constant use of the word 'respect'

In football or increasingly, in the workplace.

Respect is something that individuals develop for each other when they see how people work.

The word for what Liverpool did was unprofessional.

It looks very much like they tried to unsettle someone else's employee, but without much intention of ever following through with their offer.

It's hard to draw parallels with other workplaces, but I once had a member of my team interviewed and offered another job within the company only to have it pulled by top level management (leaving me with a very p!ssed off person to placate as best I could).

Unprofessional.
