Good question Yellalee and I'm now going to bore you with

the answer. As a kid I never really coveted too much other than my first Norwich shirt (Admiral) which I bought in Jarrolds as it had a pluck in the front and no badge so it was going cheap and a Chopper bicycle. No violins required but My Mum and Dad didn't have too much money so I never got to have a Chopper but I can't tell you just how much I wanted one! My friend had one that his Mum bought from a catalogue and paid weekly for (my Mum and Dad were having none of that overpayment nonsense) and my wealthier cousin had one too. Both let me ride them occasionally. (Incidentally the friend went on to absolute wreck his and it genuinely brought a tear to my eye knowing just how much I'd have loved one). Anyway, about ten years ago I bought an old one a did it up. Re-chromed, rebuilt wheels, full respray and eventually restored it to virtually new. Do you know the irony to this dull story? I realised it was (much like everything anyone bought in the 70's) an absolute heap of crap! Honestly it was a bit of a death trap. Pressed steel brakes that had the braking distance of a Supertanker, heavy dull frame and to ride it was no joy whatsoever. I sold it, made a loss and I don't feel the same about them. That'll teach you for asking bud :)
