He was the right kind of manager at the wrong time imo

We had a very attacking squad and his style didn’t suit it at all. Wasn’t helped by poor recruitment in the second season either, which wasn’t all on him.

His work at Brighton does suggest he has a ceiling though, as they spent loads and seemed to go through a very similar run of results and performances at the end of his run there too.
