Just after Kevin Reeves was sold, England under 21s played the GDR in Sheffield. The England forward line was Reeves & Fashanu so we had to go. My Dad knew the directors so we ended up in the directors' box & boardroom. Ken Brown was there, and either Sir Arthur ofr Mr Watling. Jack was manager of Wednesday at the time so he was there too. We bumped into each other & he spilt his tea on me. So that was my brush with greatness..
Walking back after the match, which England lost, we encountered future Hillsborough liar Irvine Patnick, with whom Dad was also acquainted. Afrer Patnick went on his way Dad said that he was a throughly nasty piece of work. And he was right.
