Part of the problem there..

is that if you asked us fans last summer where we needed to strengthen most I think we would mainly have said GK and DM. That was indeed where our most expensive signings went (even if both were - fortunately - loans), but as it happened we were wrong - Krul and Tettey have been possibly our best two players. Not sure anyone could have predicted that. We should have gone for more pace rather than rely entirely on Onel. What we seem to have done is added more depth at things we already had (similar style players) but added nothing really different. Hence a fatal lack of a Plan B.
