I think McNally deserves a shout out here

for all the criticism (from the likes of Webber) of overspending and putting the club in financial difficulty, he really did take excellent steps to safeguard the future.

Signings like Maddison and Godfrey, as well as investing in youth like Lewis and Aarons, was really superb long term planning.
