Very few EFL clubs operate with a lot of financial headroom and the top line is increasingly gates the further down the pyramid you go. No crowds is a genuine existential threat to Football As We Know It. We are much better set up than an awful lot of clubs. Wigan has been the first but there will be more even if crowds can go back at the start of next season. But we all know that's not going to be the case. Time for some big blue skies thinking from FA/EPL/EFL/TVcos on what might work financially going forward (I'd love to include PFA in that but Gordon Taylor has been such a knob on so many issues that it's hard to take them seriously as a union honestly - the sooner Dave Kitson or someone takes over the better as the players deserve a strong voice in all this too).
