1)Freak series of CB injuries

2)Amadou didn't settle /upgrade on Tettey.

3)Drmic/hernanades injuries - might have been better with Rhodes.

4)Lack of decent competition for Stipermann.

What I don't buy is that we didn't try. We looked to strengthen in the summer and we looked to do it in a way that wouldn't break the squad that brought us up. It didn't work, but to suggest that we missed something easy is only with the benefit of hindsight.
